When are people going to realize that John Mellencamp takes his shows seriously and he can be an ornery guy?

Case in point this Sunday night at the Stranahan Theater in Toledo, Ohio when someone said, "play some music.”

Not a good thing to say as Mellencamp said, “What do you think I’ve been doing, you c**ksucker?

“Here’s the thing, man. You don’t know me. You don’t [bleeping] know me. Hey Joe, find this guy and let me see him after the show.”

Some members of the audience didn't let up, which prompted Mellencamp to give them a warning.

“Guys, I can stop this show right now and just go home.”

He then paused before adding, “I tell you what I’m going to do. Since you’ve been so wonderful, I’m going to cut about 10 songs out of the show.”

He then went into a solo acoustic version of "Jack & Diane” before announcing, “Y’know what? Show’s over.”

Mellencamp then left the stage, the house lights came on, but eventually the lights went out and he returned for a few more songs.

And, like everything else these days, the outburst was caught on video.

Mellencamp resumes the tour this Tuesday in East Lansing, Michigan.
