Fans of the 1970s late-night concert series "Midnight Special" can watch episodes on YouTube without having to stay up all hours of the night.
The 90-minute pilot episode of "Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special" aired on NBC after "The Tonight Show" on a Friday night at 1 a.m. in August 1972. NBC liked the pilot and the series premiered on February 2nd, 1973.
The Midnight Special YouTube Channel hosts a "watch party" for a full episode each Friday and posts clips of random performances throughout the week. The Midnight Special Channel, which YouTube rolled out in March, is up to episode 11, featuring performances by Steely Dan, Ray Charles and Billy Preston.
