Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars just announced that he will no longer tour with the band, due to the disease he's had to cope with since the start of his career.

In a statement released to Variety, a band spokesperson cites Mars's "ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.)." He will remain a member of the band, but is unable to keep dealing with "the rigors of the road." A.S. is described as "an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine."

The band has not yet named the touring guitarist who'll replace Mars.

The Crue recently wrapped up the North American leg of The Stadium Tour with Def Leppard and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and are scheduled to tour South America and Europe next February through July.
