Fairground Ride Slams People to the Ground After Safety Bar Breaks

Fourteen people were crammed onto the 'cliffhanger' style ride at carnival in Lopburi, central Thailand, on Saturday November 30 night at around 9pm local time (GMT+7). But at the peak of the rotation and as the mechanical arms brought the guests down, the metal bar holding them in place came loose.
Footage from bystanders shows five of the revellers fall from the seats and smash into the steel platform on the Pirates of the Caribbean themed ride. One boy was hurled over a barrier and landed on the ground - before standing up and dusting himself down. One woman from the faulty carriage remained in the row of seats.
Four others hit the deck and slid along the ground from the force of falling from the moving mechanical arm. They then piled up on top of each other. Miraculously, nobody was killed or seriously hurt in the accident and the operator quickly turned off the machine.

I don't know about you, but there's no way in hell I would ever get on a bootleg Pirates of the Caribbean ride, especially when the dude painted on the ride who is supposed to look like Johnny Depp looks more like Paul Stanley. In fact, I don't trust much of any fairground rides. They get assembled and disassembled so many times that they just don't last as long. Just glad no one here was serious injured.
