Thrash Metal Legends Slayer Announce Farewell Tour

In a surprising announcement, thrash metal legends Slayer have announced their final tour, taking place in 2018.

The band posted a video to their official YouTube channel titled, "The End is Near... Slayer to make its exit with one, final world tour." No dates have been announced yet, but the announcement comes as a surprise to many fans.

Singer/bass player Tom Araya alluded that Slayer could be coming to an end in an interview from 2016. The band formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo and Araya.

Slayer is considered one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands along with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. They have released twelve studio albums, the most recent being 2015's Repentless
